The final countdown..

has begun. Counting tonight, we only have 4 more nights left in this house. We have spent 10 happy years here, I still can't quite believe that we are going. The next few days are going to be very busy so not sure how much I will be able to post. M will shut down the network here on wed so we won't be up and running again until broadband is installed at the new house (should be friday).

We have had a busy weeek, HE wise we have gotten back on track and continued with the tudors. I think the session on friday went well, though I am not sure who enjoyed the butter making more, the parents or the children! Thank you everyone who helped out, I appreciate it. I hope the candles acutally burn. We are going to save ours for the new house. Not sure how much formal learning is going to go on this week, though I am sure there will be lots of informal learning-lots of opportunities to study physics (fitting thing round corners), language (swear words), geography ( us getting lost looking for the nearest homebase), PE (carrying boxes), diplomacy (mommy trying not to loose it when something goes wrong), archaeology (finding all those things we thought we had lost once the house is clear of furniture), animal science (trying to coax 3 cats into their cat baskets), the list of things to learn is endless, do you think the lea will approve?

all the best Tammy. I was totally heartbroken at moving [as Merry will testify!]Houses are full of memories - for us, marriage and bringing home both children, my grandad visiting it when we had first bought it just before he died etc etc. My Leeds home is now in memory form with them, but still dearly loved.
something new though, and memories to make there.
Hoping it all goes smootly for you.

thank you helen. I think I will be in tears when we hand over the keys. I can't imagine not living here and I can't picture anyone else in here. sorry we are going to miss sb's party. hope you have a wonderful time.

Good luck! I'm wishing a smooth, stress-less and event-free move for you all. Saying good bye will be very sad but Helen is right...the new house will afford you a place to make new memories to go along with the old. If things get sticky just close your eyes and think of sunny CA. Will be thinking of you over the next days. Hang in there.

Well my darling daughter, moving day is coming and please let the moving people do their job and that way you will not be so stressed and use bad(swear) words. OK The other hardest place to leave was Gravel Farm in Finmere, really liked that place, but life goes on and new memories will be made in the new place. Just take it easy, OK Love Dad

thank you dad and mk for your wise and kind words. will try to remain calm and collected, though I suspect I may not manage it. I forsee lots of tears and chocolate in the next few days!
Dad, I agree with you about gravel farm, I think we were all crying when we left. even the animals were sad to go.

Hope things go smoothly; as long as you have the kid and critters when you get to the new house, I would consider it a success!!! and matthew of course!! just kidding......deep breaths....take care....auntie cheryl

I like that criteria!! moving the critters is going to be a challenge-esp the fish! shame we can't just leave them for our tennant.

hope everything has gone well, and child, animals and spouse have all succesfully moved with you!
feel free to nip over tomorrow if at a lose end - if not, hope that 'the one' takes possession of your house with ease too.
