Good sleep qualities..

that is the reason sam has given for creeping into our bed in the wee hours. Apparently our bed has "Good Sleep Qualities" while his doesn't. Apparently good sleep qualities include-a double layer of duvets, miko, mom & dad snuggles a big bed. His bed apparently does not posess any of these things. We offered to get him another duvet and to let mko sleep with him but that is not good enough. His bed is not big enough for two duvets and miko would eat all his fluffers! We wouldn't mind him coming in our bed if only he didn't wiggle so much when he was there. It is like sleeping in the middle of a busy highway the way he thrashes about. He had stopped coming in but I guess old habits die hard because he is back. We may need to resort to the dreaded star chart again if he can't stop his nocturnal wanderings. It wouldn't be that bad but the dog has now decided that she needs to wee about 5am and sadly once she is up she is up. Between the two of them we aren't getting much sleep. Anyone want to have them over for a sleep over???

Sam and I had a nice weekend, though we missed M as he was at work. Saturday we have the house a good spring clean and then took the dog for a long walk. Sam was lots of help and good company. He was in charge of bathroom sinks, shower and tub and all the skirting boards and door handles. Miko even tried to help but she and I have different views on how to clean glass!

Sunday saw us at tennis bright and early and sam ran around so much that despite the cold he was sweating. Sunday afternoon he spent playing at his friend m's house while miko and I went to lunch with the girls. It was lovely to catch up with everyone, seems ages since we had a good natter without children tearing around. L is expecting her third child so it was also a bit of a baby shower. Please send her good thoughts for an easy birth.

Yesterday and today have been very hands on school days. Yesterday we spent most of the morning on our latest young scientist club kit-all about capillary action. We had done some of the experiments before but I don't think sam remembered them as he was very excited about everything. Today we worked on the roman road and the aquaduct-pics to follow. The aquaduct has turned out better than I expected and we hope to give it a trial run tomorrow. My only complaint about the activities in SOTW is that they don't provide pics so that you know how it is supposed to look. Luckily there are tons of pics of aquaducts on google so I pretty good idea of what it was supposed to turn out like.

Loved the sleeping arrangements dilemma! Our two have always been welcome--but the wriggling is worse now that they are bigger. Hazel decided a few months ago that she will sleep with me every other night--so tells her dad to sleep in the spare room, so her wriggling won't bother him! And she does wake up every other night to come in, without fail. Though by morning I usually wake up to all three of them!

You could send them over here but I am afraid that Sam would miss out on a lot of valuable home schooling.

don't be silly there is tons of stuff that you could teach him far better than I can-he and the dog will be on the next flight out!

You failed the first test of dog ownership.

Never let dog in human sleep quarters.
